Exhibition curating
Conceiving and mounting.
Edith Mbella has been conceiving exhibitions for more than twenty years: thematic ones in Barcelona, group ones in Douala. The practice puts this experience at the service of your projects.
Who it is for
- Museums, art centres, foundations and cultural institutions.
- Galleries and private spaces.
- Collectors who wish to present their collection.
- Companies developing a cultural project.
How it works
- Defining the proposition: theme, audiences, calendar.
- Selecting works and lenders, checking authenticity and condition.
- Scenography, texts, labels, interpretation.
- Insurance, transport, installation and follow-up.
What you receive
- A project file (statement of intent, list of works, indicative budget).
- Texts and interpretation materials. A booklet, labels, visitor route and educational pack are possible.
- Support through to de-installation.
Limits and precautions
- Presenting sensitive or sacred objects requires prior ethical reflection.
- International loans involve customs and legal constraints.
- Curating is distinct from a sales operation: conflicts of interest are declared.
Fees are quoted before any work begins and never depend on the estimated value. See fees and transparency and the step-by-step process. References: Espace Bolo, Oba African Art Gallery.
